As you may know, I probably spent way too much time here up until last winter and was pulled away by a combination of altered work duties and a touch of common sense. My return has been prompted by a couple of things:
1. Job has levelled out and I have a bit more time
2. We are experiencing an almost Troll-Free period, or the Pax Forumna if you will that has brought many quality folks out of the woodwork (don't worry, I don't necessarily count myself among that group)
Oh, yeah, there is a 3rd: There is no way I could sit idly by and watch a pompous Scotsman attempt to infiltrate this place and try to convince the newer participants that he is, in fact, the end all be all of everything Dead. Not on my watch. That title will always belong to....

Nope, I'm not gonna tell.

Yes, good to see you back SDH.

I'm puzzling over new faces such as Eden and Csaw and Diablosandwich ("and make it fast"), for example. And there are about 10-15 more. They're knowledgable and seem genuinely like nice folks and definitely a welcome addition to the forum. I was just wonderin' why they all showed en masse.

TOOTMO, the wonderer

TOOTs: it may be that many of the names, and they are legion, are associated with "smi2les", the original "multiposter" of some years back...He has gone on to become a more "typical" (hope that doesn't really piss you off, C!) poster, known to a number of folks off site, etc., etc. Although accused of troll behavior, generally he was most interested in off color humor, Bay Area references, and the like, but his prime directive is to post under alt names on a regular basis.

So, never sure how many are truly new until engaged in a conversation or two...nonetheless, I would say that it seems we have added a few true newbies of late.

Me and cosmicTraveller are one and the same... I am only guilty of forgetting my old user name and creating another one. I never did this to confuse, take advantage of, ridicule, or create a false sense of comradery for me and my other user name. Pinky promise.

Oh, well then, you really aren't trying hard enough!

Why, Cush, Rob, Dire and SDH do this on a daily basis! Well...okay...for Cush it's on a monthly basis.

If ever there was a wound up double strand of misguided genetic material, awash in mutations and misalignments, it would have to be the poster you allude to...

Hmmm, better be who I am thinking of, or I may have just insulted myself.

Right; besides, I thought you Scots gave up DNA for lent or some such...we Irish just drink more in anticipation of having to explain ourselves to the local Holy Fathers as it is always best to be on an equal footing with your confessor. Not that I mean to start more "drunk Irishmen" jokes or anything...

Well, what with all the inbreeding we've all pretty much got the same DNA anyway. And you'd be surprised how many innocent sheep have been put away on false evidence....
